Zeddie C. Hammond's Obituary
Zeddie C. Hammond, age 96, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born December 29, 1921 in Martinsville, IL, a son of Clark Alanson and Anna (Tomlinson) Hammond. On February 14, 1942, Zeddie married the love of his life, Norma L. (Maxwell) Hammond, in St. Louis, MO. They spent 71 ½ years together before her passing in 2013.Zeddie is survived by their children; Donna Craig of Marshall, IL; Maxwell "Max" Hammond and wife Eileen of Martinsville, IL, and John T. Hammond of Marshall, IL; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, six brothers and two sisters.Zeddie was a US Army Air Corp veteran serving his country during WWII. He was a lifetime farmer and loved growing up on his family farm. He and Norma raised their family on the family farm and would live there for the rest of their lives. Zeddie and Norma were devoted members of the Martinsville Bible Church. He was a member of the Marshall VFW. Family and farming were his life. Public graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Bean Cemetery, Cleone, IL north of Martinsville, IL with Rev. David Wilson officiating. There will be no visitation.
