Yvonne Denise "Vonnie" Williams Carpenter, 53, of Marshall, IL passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born November 20, 1956 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Carl Junior Williams and Clara Ellen Hires. On May 21, 1982, she married George H. Carpenter in Martinsville, IL. Survivors include her father, Carl Williams of Martinsville, IL; husband, George H. Carpenter of Marshall, IL; daughter, Georgia Carpenter of Marshall, IL; brother, Kirby Williams of Martinsville, IL; sisters, Carla Kay Jean of Martinsville, IL; Sandra Gallant of Texas; Brenda Shears of TX; mother, Clara Heubner, Camp Point, IL and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded by her stepmother, Ramona Williams; son, George H.W. Carpenter; brothers, Roger Williams and Chuck Heubner and grandparents, Leo and Ethel Doran, Roy and Gertrude Williams. Vonnie was a homemaker and had previously worked for a nursing home facility in Robinson, IL. She was a member of the Willow Creek Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with Rev. Kevin Small officiating. Burial will follow in the Auburn Cemetery, Clark Center, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
