Yoshiko Stephen's Obituary
Yoshiko Stephen, 85, of Westfield, IL passed away at 1:36 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born on January 5, 1930 in Fukuoka, Japan, the daughter of Taizo Harada and Umeko Matumo. On July 10, 1951, she married Robert E. Stephen in Ashiya, Japan. He passed away on April 6, 2001. Survivors include her daughters, Mary A. Barnhart and husband Stephen of Warrensburg, MO and Ruth A. Flaherty and husband Chris of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Stephanie Schildknecht and husband Aaron, Stacey Gilkeson, C.J. Barnhart and wife Gloria and Miranda Wilson and husband Joseph; and great grandchildren, Trenton Barnhart, Madalynn Barnhart, Olivia Gilkeson and one on the way. She was preceded by her parents and husband. Mrs. Stephen was a homemaker and co-owner of the Westfield Café with her husband, Robert. She was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star in Kansas, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave. Casey, IL.
