WM "Moe" Ashley's Obituary
W.M. "Moe" Ashley, 73, of Casey, IL passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois. He was born July 10, 1932, the son of Harold Glenn Ashley and Leota Lee Ross Ashley. He married Roberta Jean Martin on June 5, 1954 in Yale, Illinois. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Ashley of Casey, son, Shannon Ashley and wife Cherie of Casey; daughters, Julie Denney and husband Rusty of Casey; Lori Crozier and husband Don of Casey and Camile Ragon and husband Rusty of Casey. Grandchildren, Brock Ashley and wife Angela, Brett Ashley and wife Tara, Adrianne Denney, Brian Crozier, Brandon Crozier, Brennan Ragon and Bryton Ragon; sister, Shirlee Johnson and husband Roy of Casey and several cousins. He was preceded by his parents. Moe was a 1950 Graduate of Casey High School, 1954 Graduate of University of Missouri, Rolla, MO - BS Petroleum Engineering, 1962 Professional Engineernig License, 1970 Graduate of Eastern Illinois University - BS Education, Member of Casey First Baptist Church, 1976 Casey Citizen of the Year, Casey Westfield Booster Club Member, Sponsor of Casey Truckers softball team for many years, Former Casey School Board Member, Former President and Member of Casey Park Board, Former President and Member of Casey Lions Club, Member ASA Softball Hall of Fame, Member Sigma Pi Fraternity, Announcer for Casey Softball Association and Member of Illinois Oil and Gas Association. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 10 am at the First Baptist Church, Casey with Rev. Tom Marsh and Pastor Terry Blanchard officiating. Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitaion will be Monday evening 6 - 8 pm at the Casey First Baptist Church.Markwell and Son Funeral Home assisted the family with services. Memorials may be made to the Casey Alumni Association for Scholarships, Casey Township Library or Casey First Baptist Church.
