Wilma Lyska Hill Clancy's Obituary
Wilma Lyska (Hill) Clancy, 100, of Casey, IL formerly of Horseshoe Bend, AR passed away at 6:09 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL with her family at her side. She was born April 27, 1915 in Garner, TX the daughter of James Irwin Hill and Ella Threatt Hill. On December 23, 1937 she married Opie Washington Clancy in Delhi, OK, a railroad executive that she traveled the country with. He passed away on August 29, 1988. Survivors include twin grandsons, Blake (Angela) Hegarty of Casey, IL and Aran (Fritz) Hegarty of Falls Church, VA; great grandchildren, Ericka (Wade) Roberts, Erin Adams, Gentry (Stefanie) Bennett, Sherena Bennett and Keyton Gordon; great great grandchildren, Emry Roberts, Wren Roberts, Trent Sanders, Madisyn Bennett and Jayden Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter, Melinda Hegarty and several brothers and sisters. As a child Wilma moved from Garner, Texas to Delhi, Oklahoma. She graduated from Delhi High School and Southwestern State College. She was an elementary school teacher and Girl Scout leader. Wilma and Opie moved to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas in their retirement years. She was a charter member of the Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church where she taught a Sunday school class and Bible school. She was an active volunteer work in her community. Wilma had just celebrated her 100th Birthday. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Arkansas. She will be interned at Evening Shadows Memorial Park, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas beside her husband, Opie W. Clancy.
