William A."Bill" Williams' Obituary
William A. "Bill" Williams, age 88, of Casey, IL entered his heavenly home on Monday morning December 11, 2023 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL. He was born February 16, 1935 in Rose Hill, IL the son of Charles Ernest Williams and Mabel Bernice (Powell) Williams. On April 5, 1953 he married Crystal Algene Hudson at Casey White Oak Church of God in Casey, IL. They enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage before she passed away on January 26, 2013.
Bill is survived by his children, Cheryl "Cherie" Logsdon (Jim) of St. Elmo, IL; Patricia "Patti" Daniels (Ron) of Casey, IL; Brad Williams (Leslie) of Casey, IL and Dana Williams of Clarksville, TN; brother, Tony Williams of Oblong, IL; grandchildren, Dustan Logsdon, Jamie Stone, Shannon Robertson (Jason), Ryan Callahan (Ashley), Kylee Gottman, (Jordan), Skylor Rivera (Jenny), Nate Williams (Emma), Noah Williams, Natalie Williams and Nick Williams; great grandchildren, Kimberly Logsdon (Dustin Tish), Kristina Opher (Tanner), Zachery Logsdon (Jila), Trey Pasley (Nicole), Jaylen Robertson, Jadon Robertson, Drew Stone, Carter Stone, Sydney Stone, Addison Hart, Tyler Callahan (Danielle), Bayley Callahan, Ashlyn Callahan (Devin), Ryla Callahan, Mason Callahan, Haylen Callahan, Kruz Miller, Eleanor Gottman, Raudhan Gottman, Shiobhan Gottman, Rosalina Martinez, Gabi Martinez, Izzy Rivera, Alanna Rivera, Catherine Rivera; great great grandchildren, Ayden Stone and Rowan Pasley; brothers in law, Ron Hudson (Donna), Larry Hudson (Betty), Delbert Hudson (Ann) and Kent Hudson (Melissa), many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, his Church family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Algene Williams; sister, Maxine Hall (Bob); brother in law, Gary Hudson and sisters in law, Kevin Hudson Corley and Shirley Williams.
Bill was a 1952 graduate of Newton High School. He loved his job and the employees he worked with for over 45 years as the Casey IGA store manager. Three weeks after he retired from the Casey IGA he began his new careers as an auditor for Pepsi Cola in Marion, IL and attendant and groundskeeper for Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, IL; jobs he continued to enjoy for 25 years.
Bill was a lifelong member of Casey White Oak Church of God where he served on the Church council and was Sunday school superintendent, deacon, trustee and served on many committees. He was a faithful servant of God and truly enjoyed working with the Church outreach with the social concerns committee, Monday night meals, free furniture and clothing give-a-ways and orchestrating the Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets.
Bill was very athletic while in high school and continued to enjoy and play sports of all kinds throughout his lifetime. He could be seen at any Church and Casey sporting event, especially if a grandchild or great grandchild was participating. Bill was a jokester with a dry sense of humor; you could never tell when he was joking or serious. He was an honest and humble hardworking man who was always willing to give a helping hand. He was proud of his children and loved his family and his community; he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Casey White Oak Church of God with Pastor Kenny Inman officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at Casey White Oak Church of God, 3305 E. 1000th Rd., Casey, IL 62420.
