William Allen "Bill" Hill's Obituary
William Allen "Bill " Hill, 91, of Martinsville, Illinois passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Heartland Manor, Casey, Illinois. He was born January 22, 1918 in Charleston, Illinois, the son of John C. Hill and Matilda Jane Coleman Hill. On October 3, 1937 he married Rosa Irene Glenn in Brazil, Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Hill of Martinsville, IL; grandson, Ed Dill and wife Linda of Martinsville, IL; granddaughter, Pat Tally and husband Dale of Paris, IL; brother, Jim Hill and wife Judy of Terre Haute, IN; sister, Ruth Jodry of Martinsville, IL; seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. His parents, daughter, Betty Jane Dill-Estes; brother, John Hill and granddaughter, Marilyn Barrall preceded him in death. Mr. Hill was a part-time ambulance driver for Greenwell's. He was a self-employed auto mechanic, a school bus driver, fire chief and owned the Martinsville Marathon Gas Station. He attended the Martinsville United Methodist Church. He was a Past Master of the Martinsville Masonic Lodge #603, a member of the Danville Scottish Rite, the Ainad Temple Shrine, the Clark County Shrine Club and Clark County Shrine Hobos. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, Illinois with Rev. John Gartelos officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home with Masonic Services at 7 p.m. by the Martinsville Masonic Lodge #603.
