William "Bill" Herman's Obituary
William "Bill" Clyde Herman, 71, of Green Valley, AZ, formerly of Terre Haute, IN and Greenup, IL, left this earth to be with the LORD on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Born on May 27, 1937, to Clyde C. Herman and Mary Davis Herman, of North Terre Haute, IN. Bill married Shirley Leora Stull from Casey, IL on April 3, 1959 in Terre Haute, IN. He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley Herman. He is also survived by daughter, Susan Renee Collins and husband Terry of Effingham, IL; granddaughter, Dr. Nicole Renee (Collins) Sydow and husband Gregg of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Marilyn Beaucar of Terre Haute, IN and Sara J. Archer of Corydon, IN; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Thomas "Tommy" Herman. Bill and Shirley lived in Terre Haute, IN for twelve years after they married then moved to Greenup, IL for thirty-one years before retiring to Arizona in 2002. Bill attended Otter Creek High School and graduated in 1955. He had a degree in Mechanical Engineering Design from Chicago Tech and went on to become a Tooling Designing Engineer. He served in the Air National Guard and US Air Force. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #4598 in Greenup, IL, also Past Master Mason of Hutton Lodge #698. He was also a 32 degree Mason at Danville, IL Consistory and a Shriner of Ansar Temple in Springfield, IL. Bill attended church regularly and he loved to read and hear the Word of the Lord. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Casey-Cumberland Cemetery with Rev. Scott Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Casey-Cumberland Cemetery.
