Wayne Roy Whalen, Jr.'s Obituary
Wayne Roy Whalen, Jr., age 65, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN. He was born July 31, 1957 in Vincennes, IN, the son of Wayne Roy Whalen, Sr. and Virginia Lee Stephens Whalen.
Survivors include his children, Jessica Millam (Loren) of Casey, IL, Kinsie Whalen (Brock Hellman) of Greenup, IL, Whitney Whalen of Mt. Zion, IL, Rilan Robinson (Diana) of Casey, IL, Maranda Tedrick (Adam Ahart) of Belleville, IL, and Jalee Martin of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Kiah Bollenbaugh, Avalyn Robinson, Nallie Whalen, Keegan Montgomery, Tinley O 'Donnell Ahart, Layden Hellman, Kaysen Hatfill, Braesyn Hellman, Mia Ahart, and Eden Ahart; fiancé, Linda "DeAnn" Martin of Martinsville, IL; mother, Virginia Lee Madding (Richard) of Vincennes, IN; brother, Tracy Whalen of Babson Park, FL; sister, Penny Rehwald (Steve) of Vincennes, IN; step brothers, Rex Madding and Allen Madding; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Wayne Roy Whalen III; and nephew, Brady Whalen.
Wayne was raised on the family farm in Decker Chapel, IN. He was a 1975 graduate of South Knox High School in Vincennes, IN and continued his education at ITT Technical Institute in Evansville, IN. Wayne was a member of Martinsville Bible Church in Martinsville, IL. He was a computer programmer at Champion Lab in Albion, IL. Family was Wayne 's greatest treasure and he loved spending time with them. He also enjoyed talking politics and going on vacation.
Funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor David Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
