Wayne Lee Stephen's Obituary
Wayne Lee Stephen, age 80, of Westfield, IL passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. He was born October 23, 1935 in Westfield, IL the son of Harlan Stephen and Clara Edith (Stricker) Stephen. He married Peggy Ann Hickox on June 28, 1956 in Casey, IL, who passed away on November 15, 2001. Survivors include his daughters, Dianna (Kevin) D'Arcy of Westfield, IL and Carol (Jim) Roberts of Westfield, IL; grandchildren, Ryan (Tara) D'Arcy, Gregory D'Arcy, Matthew D'Arcy, Rhys D'Arcy, Sean (Megan) Roberts all of Westfield, IL, and Stesha (Nathan) Hackett of Charleston, IL; great grandchildren, Vera, Lillian and Oliver D'Arcy; Vaedyn, Bryce and Lydia Roberts and Callen and Annastyn Hackett; ex-wife, Elizabeth "Susie" Callahan of Greenup, IL; nephews, nieces, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Ronald Wayne Stephen; sister, Wanda (Richard) Applegate and nephew, Stephen Applegate. Wayne was a farmer who previously worked as a rig driller early in his life. He retired after 29 years as a supervisor for Moore Business Forms in Charleston, IL. Wayne was a member of Salisbury Church, Hutton Twp., Charleston, IL and a member of Westfield Masonic Lodge #1046. He enjoyed spending time restoring antique Oliver tractors and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved his family more than anything. The family thank his caregivers: Joyce Hofmann, Julie McDivitt, Judith Stapp, Fred Jaeger, and Carolyn Birch and the staff of Casey Health Care Center for their wonderful and loving care. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Dolan officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. A Masonic service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday by Westfield Masonic Lodge #1046. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2001 S.
