Warren L Elliott's Obituary
Warren L. Elliott, 84, of Martinsville, Illinois, passed away at 9:05 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Burnsides Community Health Center in Marshall, Illinois. He was born on October 7, 1924, in Clark Co., Illinois, the son of Wallace Edmond Elliott and Vertie I. Lingafelter Elliott. On January 19, 1950, he married Maxine Vanarsdalen. He later married Mary Neidigh Callahan on March 18, 1995. She passed away on March 22, 2002. He is survived by his former wife and friend, Maxine Elliott of Annapolis, IL; daughter, Roberta Stephens and husband Martin of Annapolis, IL; son, Ron Elliott of Martinsville, IL; son, Richard Elliott and wife Karen of Martinsville, IL; son, Randy Elliott and wife Kamy, of Martinsville, IL; sister, Fairy Launer of Beardstown, IL, sister, Margaret Connor and husband Walter of Robinson, IL; step brother, Warren Neidigh and wife Phyllis of Sacramento, CA; stepson, Roger Callahan and wife Cindy of Independence, MO; stepdaughter, Nancy Barnett and husband Bill of Avon, IL; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and many loving ex and step family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Marjorie Elliott, and Seibert and Gloria Elliott, and brother-in-law Gilbert Launer. Warren was a very hardworking man. He was a lifelong farmer and worked at Briggs Manufacturing in Robinson, IL. He attended the Willow Creek Presbyterian Church. Warren served in the US Air Force in WWII from April 15, 1943 to December 24, 1945. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #649 in Annapolis, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL, with Rev. Kevin Small officiating. Burial will follow in the Butternut Cemetery, south of Martinsville, IL, with graveside military rites by the Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from Noon to 2 p.m. prior to the services at the Markwell Funeral Home.
