Wanda Rosalee Hammond's Obituary
Wanda Rosalee Hammond, age 84, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 3:15 p.m. at Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey, Illinois, on Thursday, September 24, 2009. She was born November 8, 1924 in Casey, Illinois, the daughter of Oliver Franklin Brown and Zada Fern Short Brown. Survivors include her grandsons, Matthew Kent Hammond and wife Jill Elizabeth of Waxahachie, TX and Austin Michael Hammond of Waxahachie, TX; daughter in law, Deanna Hammond of Waxahachie, TX; niece, Heather Gallo of Fredericksburg, VA; great niece, Heather Conner; great nephew, Anthony Gallo and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son, Michael Kent Hammond and brother, Leonald Duane Brown. Rosalee was retired from Lee High Stone Company and the Casey Shoe Factory. She was a life long Casey resident. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Casey, IL; a lifetime member of the Casey VFW Auxiliary and a former member of the Casey Moose Lodge. Graveside memorial services and inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Casey Cumberland Cemetery with Pastor Rick Williams officiating. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Casey First Christian Church, 200 SE Eighth St., Casey, IL 62420.
