Virgil Eugene Rodgers, age 45, of Baldwinsville, NY formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 4:34 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at St. Joseph"™s Hospital, Syracuse, NY. He was born May 22, 1973 in Paris, IL, the son of Charles Wesley Rodgers and Dorothy Mae Reynolds Rodgers.Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Terry Goble of Casey, IL; children, Tiarra Black of Charleston, IL; Ashton Rodgers, Anthony Rodgers and Austin Rodgers of Casey, IL and Avery Rodgers of Baldwinsville, NY; siblings, Janette Fisher of Charleston, IL; Pam Mullen (Brad) of Martinsville, IL, Lori Rodgers (Mark Loftis) of Champaign, IL and Connie Hickox (Stacey) of Casey, IL, many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncles, aunts and his father.Virgil was a 1992 graduate of Casey Westfield High School. He was employed as a welder for Specialty Welding and Fabricating of New York in Syracuse, NY. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed restoring his Camaro and spending time with his family and friends.Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Markwell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Vernon Addition Cemetery (Washington Street Cemetery) Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.
