Violet Lavaughn Sharp's Obituary
Violet Lavaughn Sharp, 86, of Casey, IL passed away at 8:02 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born February 25, 1929 in Greenup, IL, the daughter of George Washington Neese and Ollie Brant Neese. On October 5, 1946 she married Linden Dean Sharp in Robinson, IL. Survivors include her husband, Dean Sharp of Casey, IL; son, David Roy Sharp of Casey, IL; daughter in law, Denise Sharp of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Jessica Housinga and husband John of Norfolk, VA; Justin Sharp and girlfriend Marsha Wilson of Casey, IL and Samantha Sharp of Casey, IL and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Orville Neese; sisters, Hazel Neese, Dorothy Carver, Delphia Burson, Betty Smith, Gladys Ussery and granddaughter, Tennille Sharp. Mrs. Sharp was a homemaker and had previously worked for the Ettlebrick Shoe Company. She was a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Casey, IL. Violet enjoyed cooking, yard work and gardening. She was a very organized person and had even organized the barn much to Linden's dismay. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Markwell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery, rural Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
