Vineta Fessenbeck's Obituary
Vineta Fessenbeck, age 80, of Martinsville, died on Monday, May 23, 2005 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with Rev. Terry Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Martinsville. She was born February 27, 1924 in Parker Township, Clark County, IL, the daughter of William and Etta Kuhn Shafer. She married Kenneth Fessenbeck on Mary 23, 1946; he preceded her in death on January 18, 1992. She was a retired teller at the Union Planters Bank in Martinsville and also had worked for several years for Country Companies Insurance Office in Martinsville. She was a member of the Martinsville Bible Church and the Martinsville American Legion. Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Bennett and husband Scott, Carol Lowry and husband Bill and Karen Elliott and husband Richard "Bucky", all of Martinsville, two sisters, Juanita Seaton of Martinsville and Viola Blanchard of Champaign, IL, and seven grandchildren: Blair Bennett and her finace Andrew Bailey, Bryan Bennett, Erin Lowry, Megan Lowry, Austin Lowry, Tyler Elliott and Haley Elliott. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Charles Shafer and sister Billie Louise Shafer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Martinsville Elementary School Playground Fund, PO Box 396, Martinsville, IL 62442.
