Vickie L. Sandiford, 59, of rural Casey, IL passed away at 3:50 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving husband, children and family after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 25, 1952, in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Gerald M. Smokey Duvall and Hazel June Cragle Duvall. On November 13, 1971, she married Harold W. Sandiford at the Willow Creek Church, rural Clark County, IL. Survivors include her husband of forty years, Harold W. Sandiford of rural Casey, IL; son, Roger (Amanda) Sandiford of Casey, IL; daughter, Becky (Joe Ballew) Sandiford Turner of Martinsville, IL; brothers, David (Ellen) Duvall of Hillsboro, IL; Terry (Jane) Duvall of Casey, IL; Gary Duvall of Casey, IL; Dan Duvall of Greenup, IL; Bob Duvall of Casey, IL; sisters, Kay Ann (Mike) Sherwood of Casey, IL Myrna (Steve) Keeney of Casey, IL; Kathy (Gene) Galloway of Sumner, IL; grandsons, Kyle, Matthew, Jonathan and Christopher Sandiford and Homer Cown; granddaughters, Kylee Cown, Rachel Ballew and Kelsie Sandiford; step granddaughter, Cheryl Ballew; three step great grandchildren, Landen, Melanie and Brylie and eighteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, father and mother in law, Rexall and Roberta Sandiford; sister in law, Marsha Duvall and brother in law, Eugene Sandiford. Vickie was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and collecting clowns. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Partlow Cemetery, rural Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N.
