Verretta Irene Henderson's Obituary
Verretta Irene Henderson, 93, of rural Greenup, IL passed away at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at her home. She was born December 12, 1918 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Alva Ernest Watts and Ethel Rose Houser Watts. On December 11, 1948, she married Ernest F. Henderson near Casey, IL. He passed away on January 30, 1988. Survivors include sons, Charles R. Henderson of Toledo, IL; Robert W. Henderson and wife Debra of Casey, IL; Lowell L. Henderson and wife Marilyn of Greenup, IL; Dwight L. Henderson and wife Elizabeth of Greenup, IL; daughter, Linda L. Matherly of Greenup, IL; brother, James Sloat and wife Deloris of Kansas, IL; fifteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter, Lillian Shick; daughter in law, Jessie Henderson; brothers, Charles and Clifford Watts and sister, Lorene Patrick. Mrs. Henderson previously worked at the Ettlebrick Shoe Factory in Casey, IL and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Valley Methodist Church c/o Markwell Funeral Home, P.O. Box 175, Casey, IL 62420.
