Stuart Edward Davis' Obituary
Stuart Edward Davis, 72, died September 26 at his home surrounded by family. Stuart was born August 22, 1937, in Paris, Illinois. He graduated from Westfield High School and later served in the United States Air Force. He was married to Lois A. (Murphy) Davis for 54 years. She survives him along with their children, Jeffrey (Heather) Davis of Alliance, OH, Lori (Bob) Kious of Mattoon, IL, and Matthew (Tracy) Davis of Hollywood, FL, grandchildren, Stacy Shupe, Christopher Davis, Rebekah Davis, Sara Davis, Macy Davis, and great-grandchild, Leah Shupe. He is also survived by his brother, Wm. Jeffrey (Margy) Davis of Westfield, IL, half-brother, Alan Davis and half-sisters, Geri Linn and Tanya Davis of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecile M. Goble and Wm. Vincent Davis. Stuart worked many years in the manufacture of shoes with Brown, Kinney, Endicott-Johnson and RG Barry Shoes and retired from management with the Limited Stores. He was a member of Hollywood Hills United Methodist Church. Hollywood, FL, and attended First Church of the Nazarene, Marion, OH. He enjoyed woodworking, jigsaw puzzles and being with his family where he was the life of the party. A fan of Mark Twain he would certainly agree to the line, "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter." And his laughter touched us all. Graveside inurnment will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at the Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL with Rev. Jeff Davis officiating.
