Stewart Mitchell Hills, 54, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 7:26 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. Stewart was born February 9, 1957, the son of Paul Fenton Hills and Nita Lora Newlin Hills. Survivors include his parents, Paul and Nita Hills of Martinsville, IL; son, Heath Farrington Skinner of Martinsville, IL; granddaughter, Makhayla Skinner of Martinsville, IL; grandson, Lucas Skinner of Martinsville, IL; special friend, Debbie Butchin and son Joe Butchin Reiber of Martinsville, IL; sister, Tami Newlin and husband Jay of West York, IL; sister, Valorie Ruffner and husband Butch of Casey, IL; sister, Lori Briggs and husband Todd of Casey, IL; sister, Amber Maus and husband Mike of Oblong, IL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; his ever faithful dogs, Sput, Bucky, Ginger, Flash, Little B. and Baby Girl; all his special friends and garden buddies. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Levi Newlin, paternal grandparents, Bernell and Marie Hills and maternal grandparents, Roy and Mattie Newlin. Stewart worked at Rowe Foundry for 32 years in Martinsville, IL and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with many people. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL with High Priest Steve Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery south of Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
