Shirley A Mansholt's Obituary
Shirley A. Mansholt, 75, of Casey, IL passed away at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, IL. She was born on February 3, 1936, in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of Robert A. Hickox and Ruth Ines Middleton Hickox. On November 24, 1953, she married Norris "Tad" Mansholt in Hoguetown, IL. Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, Tad Mansholt of Casey, IL; daughter, Valerie Owen of Sacramento, CA; sister, Rosemary Mitchell and husband Pete of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Jeremy Owen of Martinsville, IL and Jessie Murdock and husband Richard of Sacramento, CA; great grandson, Ricky Murdock; brother-in-law, Herbert Mansholt and wife Anne of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Roy Mitchell. Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Casey High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader throughout high school. She was a member of the Casey Country Club and the Long Lake Lutheran Church in Sarona, WI. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
