Sheila Teresa Mary Stephen's Obituary
Sheila Teresa Mary (McDonough) Stephen, 71, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at her home. She was born May 9, 1941 in Denver, CO, the daughter of Thomas J. McDonough and Nellie Peggy Slack McDonough. On July 7, 1961 she married 2 Lt. Paul R. Stephen in Colorado Springs, CO. Survivors include her husband of fifty-one years, Lt. Col. Paul R. Stephen (Ret) of Martinsville, IL; daughters, Deanna Keeney and husband Stanley of Casey, IL; Deborah Lampe and husband Jeffrey of Gettysburg, PA; Paula Crumrin and husband Daryn of Decatur, AL; grandchildren, Marie Person and husband Kenneth; Colton, Leanna, Adam and Owen Keeney; Tyler, Max and Teresa Lampe and Allison, Elizabeth and Samantha Crumrin. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tommy McDonough. Mrs. Stephen was a cherished wife, a loving mother and an absolutely doting grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family and her nursing career of forty-two years. She worked at Casey Health Care Center from 1982 until her retirement. Sheila was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Martinsville Chapter and a lifetime member of the Casey VFW Ladies Auxillary. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Casey, IL with Father Michael Haag officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Burial will take place at a later date at the United States Air Force Academy Cemetery, Colorado Springs, CO. Memorial donations may be made to the Casey VFW Ladies Auxillary, 300 S. Central Ave., Casey, IL 62420 or the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 E. Jefferson St., Casey, IL 62420.
