Sharon E. Stephen's Obituary
Sharon E. (Ennis) Stephen, age 83, of Oilfield, Illinois passed away on May 3, 2024 at Heartland Nursing and Rehab in Casey, Illinois. She was born October 26, 1940 in Oilfield, Illinois, the daughter of Elbert G. & Mary F. (Veach) Ennis. On April, 4, 1958 she married Warren Leon Stephen in Martinsville, IL. They shared 62 years of marriage before he passed away on September 25, 2020.
Sharon is survived by her children, Scott (Sarah) Stephen of Altamont, Illinois, Connie (Bruce) Ghast of Casey, Illinois, Michael (Cindy) Stephen, El Paso, Illinois. Grandchildren and great-granchildren, Derek (Lauti) Ghast, Daniel; Seth (Meghan) Ghast, Nadylie, Kyler and Logan; Shelby (Jeff) Babbs, Ralph, Theodore and Clarabelle; Preston Reick (Sarah Kulhanek). Brothers, Dwight (Leeila) Ennis of Westfield, Illinois, Morris (Mary Kay) Ennis of Decatur, Illinois. Sisters, Ruth Ann Beasley of Casey, Illinois, Zoe (Gary) Chittick of Clinton, Indiana, Martha (Jerry) Menser of Westfield, Illinois. Sister-in-law, Sharon Ennis of Casey, Illinois. Brother-in-law, Robert Bartley of Charleston, Illinois and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Theron Ennis, sister-in-law, Dorothy Bartley, brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene Beasley, Bob (Ko) Stephen and Joyce Ennis.
Sharon was a 1958 graduate of Westfield High School. She worked at Casey Kentucky Fried Chicken and retired from Bolin Enterprises after 15 years of service. Sharon was a member of the Moriah Church and faithfully attended the Salisbury Church with her family in later years.
With Faith always first, she walked daily with her Lord and Savior. She always showed love to every member of her family and had a kind smile for friends, which was reflected in the over 100 photo albums she methodically arranged. Her daily duties included a chipper whistling tune, enjoyed by all.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Finney officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4 - 7 p.m. at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
