Sandra Lee"Sandy" Sidwell's Obituary
Sandra Lee "Sandy" Sidwell, age 84, was welcomed to her heavenly home on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Heartland Nursing and Rehab Center, Casey, IL. She was born June 27, 1940 in Olney, IL the daughter of James Edgar Ingersoll and Adenia Belle (Burt) Ingersoll.
She married Jerry Lee Sidwell, Sr. and they were blessed with eight children, Jerry Lee Sidwell, Jr. of Casey, IL; John William Sidwell (June) of Casey, IL; John Wayne Sidwell of Anderson, IN; Tobias Marshal Sidwell of Churchill, TN; Catherine LeeAnn Judy (Steve) of Newton, IL; Janet Kay Sidwell of Greenup, IL; Nancy Jo Simpson (Toby) of Greenfield, IN and Susan Marie Jones (Justin) of Toledo, IL; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; brothers, Jim Ingersoll (Diana) of Olney, IL and Bill Ingersoll (Julaine) of O 'Fallon, IL; sisters, Joan Slichenmyer of Olney, IL and Jean Blakney (Tom) of Olney, IL; brothers in law, Bob Huffman of Speedway, IN and Ron Bayles of Charleston, IL; her church family, her nursing home family and many friends. She was preceded by her parents, sisters, Kathy Bayles, Ann Huffman and Ruth Smith (Greg); brother in law, Frank Slichenmyer and grandsons, Jeremy Sidwell and Bowen Sidwell.
Sandy was a 1958 graduate of Casey High School. She was a homemaker and worked at Davis Café, The Dutch Pantry and McQuay Norris. Sandy was a faithful prayer warrior and lifetime member of Casey First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served on many committees. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbor Home Extension and volunteered at Heartland Nursing Home, Birchwood Nursing Home, Simple Blessings and Casey Thrift Shop.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Casey First Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Emrich and Pastor Brent Howard officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the church. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, IL.
