Saidee Hollensbe's Obituary
Saidee Hollensbe, 102, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Casey Health Care Center in Casey, Illinois. She was born August 6, 1905 in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Levi Huddlestun and Syntelia Snearley Huddlestun. On August 15, 1923 in Newton, Illinois she married Elmer Ira Hollensbe; he preceded her in death in June 8, 1963. Survivors include her grandchildren, Barbara S. Dulgar Andersen of The Villages, FL; Micheal Hollensbe of Hazel Dell, IL; Don Scott Hollensbe of Hazel Dell, IL; Crystal Morgan of Westfield, IL; six great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren; six nephews, Max Hollensbe, Jr. of Decatur, IL; Ira Hollensbe of St. Louis, MO; Joseph Hollensbe of St. Louis, MO; James Hollensbe of St. Louis, MO; Larry Hollensbe of Hazel Dell, IL and Tom Hollensbe of Tuscola, IL. Her parents, husband, daughter, Mary Katherine Hollensbe; son-in-law, Ray A. Hollensbe; granddaughter, Linda Brandenburg Stewart; brothers, Edgar Huddlestun and Olin Huddlestun; sisters, Flossie Billman, Hazel Huddlestun and Ruby Hollensbe, and two great grandchildren preceded her in death. Saidee was homemaker and a former office manager of Elmer's Auto in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of the First Christian Church of St. Louis, MO and attended the Casey First Christian Church of Casey, IL. She was also a lifelong member of the Casey Women of the Moose. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, Illinois with Rev. Larry Hollensbe officiating. Burial will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, 700 Broadway Ave. East, Suite 9, Mattoon, IL 61938.
