Ruby Pearl Gilbert-Cureton's Obituary
Ruby Pearl (Partlow) Gilbert-Cureton, age 84, of Prescott, AZ, formerly of Casey, died on Sunday, June 19, 2005 in Prescott. Funeral services will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2005 at the Washington Street Cemetery in Casey with Rev. Gary Hopkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on June 25, 2005 at Markwell and Son Funeral Home in Casey. She was born January 1, 1921 in Casey, the oldest daughter of Harman and Ola Katheryn Miller Partlow. She married Garland Gilbert on December 24, 1938; he prededed her in death. She moved to Arizona in the 1970's and there she met and married Floyd Cureton; he also preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bagdad, AZ. She enjoyed working with the elderly in the nursing homes and was a Home Health Aid for the state of Arizona. She also loved working with children and worked in the preschool in Bagdad as well. She liked to knit, embroidery, do hand crafts and listen to old time Christian music. Her favorite thing to do before her health began to decline was to eat at the Golden Corral in Prescott and she couldn't pass up that lemon pie. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and will be greatly missed by them all. Surviving are daughters Beverly Poston and Mary Swinson-Seier, both of Bagdad, Helen Seevers of Argenta, IL, sons William Allen Gilbert of Hudson, NC and Craig Leo Piker of Morrow Beach, CA, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several step-grandchildren, four brothers Richard, Howard, Ronnie and Harold Partlow, a sister Barbara Devall and numerous nieces and nephews from both the Gilbert and Cureton families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three sisters, Roberta, Reba Partlow Gatewood, Anna May Edwards and one son, Paul Stanley Gilbert.
