Ruby K Galbreath's Obituary
Ruby Kathryn Galbreath, 97, of Coal City, IL formerly of Westfield, IL and Mattoon, IL passed away ay 11 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Dwight, IL. She was born October 4, 1912 in Robinson, IL; the daughter of Cliff Conover and Mae Newlin Conover. On August 13, 1940, she married Loyal Tom Galbreath in Robinson, IL. He passed away on December 26, 1970. Survivors include twin sons, Roy Galbreath and wife Rita of Coal City, IL and Ray Galbreath and wife Barbara of Ashmore, IL; son, Dale Galbreath of Goose Lake, IL; daughter, Laura Ross and husband Doit of Minooka, IL; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Galbreath; infant son, Larry Galbreath; brother, Carl Conover; sister, Edna Godsey and grandson, David Ross. Mrs. Galbreath was a homemaker and taught Home Economics in Mason City, IL. She was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church, the Decatur Quilting Club and the Clark and Coles County Home Extension. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great cook, an award winning quilter, an avid traveler and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Markwell Chapel in Westfield, IL with Rev. Scott Sims officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirk Chapel Cemetery, rural Robinson, IL. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Chapel in Westfield.
