Roy Allen Mitchell's Obituary
Roy Allen Mitchell, 47, of Martinsville, IL went to his eternal home at 6:10 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at Heartland Manor Nursing Center in Casey, IL. He was born March 18, 1961 in Charleston, Illinois, the son of Paul "Pete" Mitchell and Rosemary Hickox Mitchell. On September 18, 1981 he married Kay Clapp in Westfield, Illinois. Survivors include his beloved wife of 27 years, Kay Mitchell of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Jennifer Ellington and husband Chris and their daughter, Tori of Martinsville, IL; son, Clinton Mitchell and his family of Virginia; parents, Pete and Rosemary Mitchell of Casey, IL; brother, Roger Mitchell and wife Sue of Casey, IL; sister, Paula Tipsword and husband Will of Casey, IL; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. His grandparents, Robert "Rog" and Ruth Hickox and Denzel and Mamie Mitchell preceded him in death. Roy was raised working in the oilfields; most recently working for Horizontal Systems in Casey, IL. Previously he was employed by United Construction in Casey, IL. Roy was a 1979 graduate of Casey High School. He will be sadly missed by his family, and dear friends, who shared in his hobbies of wild game hunting, motorcycle riding, camping, and mushroom hunting. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Pastor Jeff Lakins and Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
