Rosalyn Mae Shafer, 91, of Casey, IL passed away at 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County, IL, She was born on October 7, 1915 in Casey, IL to Guy Lewis Delp and Zella Ann Rose Delp. On December 29, 1934 in Lawrenceville, IL she married Charles L. Shafer, he passed away on March 10, 2003. Survivors include her daughters, Sharleen Maxey and husband Bill of Fort Meade, FL and Marsha Rue and husband Robert of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Cindy Wimbley, Roger Rue and wife Joanne, Lori Romanelli and husband Joe, Randy Rue, David Maxey and wife Daisy, Michael Maxey and wife Tracey and David Haldorson; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, brother, Paul Delp; sisters, Marjorie Lowery and Ruth Kerins; and granddaughters, Diana Maxey and Kathy Haldorson. Rosalyn was a homemaker. She was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church where she previously played in the bell choir. She was an avid game player, and loved to cook, garden, sew and fish. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL. Burial will be in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening 4 - 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL. Memorials may be made to the Casey United Methodist Church, 700 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL 62420.
