Rosalie I Warfel's Obituary
GREENUP - Rosalie Irene Warfel, 72, of Greenup, died at 10:36 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 9, 2006) at her home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Markwell Funeral Home, in Casey, with the Rev. Richard Shoot officiating. Burial will be in the Block Cemetery, West of Hazel Dell. Visitation will be two hours before the service at the funeral home. She was born May 5, 1933 in Greenup, the daughter of Rufus Laverle Shepard and Mollie Mae Madlem Shepard. She married Robert H. Warfel in 1950; he survives. Other survivors include two sons, Robert Allen Warfel & wife Linda and Daniel Lee Warfel, all of Greenup; Karen Moffett & husband Robert of Westfield and Linda Jane Thompson & husband Melvin of Marshall; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Ruby Tucker & one infant sister and one grandchild, Jamie Moffet. Mrs. Warfel retired as a sewing machine operator having worked at shoe factories in Greenup, Charleston, Casey and Robinson. She loved to camp and fish. Sewing was her life, sewing sleeping bags, quilts, teddy bears, and blankets for her children and grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Lincolnland Hospice, 700 Broadway Ave. E., Suite 9, Mattoon, IL 61938.
