Rosalie Deverick's Obituary
Rosalie Deverick, 94, of Marshall, IL formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Burnsides Community Health Center, Marshall, IL. She was born June 19, 1917, in Casey, IL, the daughter of Walter Lee Gross and Ella Hills Gross. On June 20, 1933, she married Eugene R. Deverick. He passed away on September 1, 1995. Survivors include son, Leland "Leon" Deverick and wife Barbara of Marshall, IL; Donna Jean Hoyt and husband Steve of Cypress, TX; daughter, Judith A. Snider and husband Ron of Golden, CO; grandchildren, Roger Shotts, Rick Shotts, Jennifer Shumaker, Janice Oney, Jerry Deverick, Lisa Melcho, Andrea Beilman and Diana Kuettel; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Kenneth and Russell Gross and sister, Normah Huffman. Rosalie was a homemaker and the owner of Rosalie's Beauty Shop from 1958 through 1964. She was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God and the VFW Auxillary. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Burnsides Community Health Center, 410 N. Second St., Marshall, IL 62441.
