Ronald Gene Pierson's Obituary
Ronald Gene "Ron" Pierson, 63, of Casey, IL passed away at 8:58 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Indiana. He was born on April 2, 1946 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of William Pierson and Betty Lou Guerrettaz Pierson. On April 23, 1966 he married Linda Madlem in Casey, Illinois. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Linda S. Pierson of Casey, IL; sons, Shane Pierson of Overland Park, KS; Travis and Joelle Pierson of Olathe, KS and Troy and Deborah Pierson of Mountain Home, ID; brother, Mike and wife Jackie of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Randy and wife Ann of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Brynna, Matilynn, Taylor and Averie Pierson; father in law, Jim Madlem of Casey, IL; brother in law, David Madlem of Casey, IL; sister in law, Janice Clement of Martinsville, IL; several nieces and nephews and half sisters, Jan Poole of Indianapolis, IN and Sandy Robinson of Paris, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter in law, Rebecca Pierson. Ron was a 1964 graduate of Casey High School. He was retired from American Automotive. Ron served in the United States Army and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the Casey Moose Lodge. He loved all sports and was an avid golfer and a fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, Illinois with Rev. Gene Southard officiating. Burial will be at Casey Cumberland Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans Association, 6285 Pearl Road Suite #7, Parma Heights, OH, 44130.
