Ronald Gene "Ronnie" Morris' Obituary
Ronald Gene "Ronnie" Morris, 74, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 1:55 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Casey Health Care Center, Casey, Illinois. He was born March 20, 1934 in Casey, Illinois the son of Harold O. Morris and Ruth Margaret Fox Morris. On July 19, 1952 he married Barbara Ellen Throneburg in Effingham Illinois. They were married for thirty-two years until her untimely death on March 13, 1985. Survivors include son, Mike Morris and wife Janet of Mattoon, IL; son, Mark Morris and wife Cindy of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Amber Hesse and husband Alex of Mattoon, IL; Brian Morris of Mattoon, IL; Holly Morris of Springfield, IL and Ty Morris of Springfield, IL. His parents, wife and brother Charles Morris preceded him in death. Ronnie worked for Chapman Brothers in Casey and retired from Tracy Trucking in Casey, IL. He was a member of the Casey Masonic Lodge and was a US Army Korean War Veteran. He was discharged in 1958 as a Specialist and had received the Good Conduct Medal. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey, Illinois with Rev. Clyde Masten officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery with Graveside Military Rites by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to Casey Health Care Center Memorial Garden, 100 NE 15th St., Casey, IL 62420.
