Roger Lynn Collier's Obituary
Roger Lynn Collier, 67, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at his home. He was born June 12, 1941 in Imboden, Virginia, the son of James Collier and Virginia Tankersly Collier. Survivors include his parents, James and Virginia Collier of Clarksville, IN; son, Michael Lynn Collier of West Palm Beach, FL; daughter, Andrea Daniels of Evansville, IN; one grandson; brothers, Dean Collier and wife Brenda of Plaquemine, LA and Earl Collier and wife Wanda of Pekin, IN and sister, Anetha McCarty of Clarksville, TN. His brother, David Collier preceded him in death. Roger was a member of the US Army from September 1960 through December 1965. He was a retired Union Welder with the Local L363 in Belleville, IL. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgees Helpess and AFL - CIO. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville, IL, with Pastor Bob Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning at the funeral home. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2509 S. Neil St., Suite 1, Champaign, IL 61820.
