Roger Lee Blaase's Obituary
Roger Lee Blaase, 71, of Charleston, Illinois passed away at 10 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, Illinois. He was born October 24, 1937 in Arthur, Illinois, the son of Roy Blaase and Amelia Agee Blaase. On October 6, 1991 he married Karen June Minesinger in Champaign, Illinois. Survivors include his wife Karen of Charleston, IL; two children; stepsons, Dean Oder (Lynn) of St. Peters, MO and D.J. Wilson (Chris) of Urbana, IL; stepdaughters, Kim Kuchenbrod (Jerry) of Ashmore, IL; Donna Foley (Tim) of Champaign, IL; Susan Close of Champaign, IL and Kelly Oder (Shelley) of Bel Aire, KS; sister, Virginia Cornwell of Arthur, IL; sixteen grandchildren; one great grandchild and cousins, Kenneth and Margie. He was preceded by his parents, brother in law, Dale Cornwell and his constant companion of eleven years, Ginger. Roger was a retired welder from Trailmobile in Charleston, IL after twenty-seven years. A graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Bourbon Cemetery in Arthur, Illinois.
