Robert Ray "Rob" Schiver's Obituary
Robert Ray "Rob" Schiver, 45, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:43 a.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born December 27, 1963 in Charleston, IL, the son of David C. Schiver and Bernadine Ramsey Schiver. Survivors include his sons, John Michael Schiver of Plainfield, IL and Andrew Robert Schiver of Urbana, IL; parents, David and Bernadine Schiver of Martinsville, IL; brother, John D. Schiver and wife Rebecca of Martinsville, IL; girlfriend, Carlene Schaefer of Casey, IL; nieces and nephews, Kierstin Richardson Adams and husband Christopher, Jesse Schiver, Joel and Jace Richardson; great nephews, Braylen and Maddix Adams; brother in law, Jeff Richardson and wife Robyn and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lydina Lynn Richardson and grandparents, John and Essie Schiver and Goldie D. Smith. Rob farmed with his family all of his life. He volunteered his time and was always helping out the Casey VFW Post 5762 when and where needed the kitchen, the bar and their "fix-it" man. He was a 1982 graduate of Martinsville High School. Rob was a member of the First Christian Church in Casey, a former Clark County Pork Producer Board Member, a member of the Elks Club in Lawrenceville, IL and coached Martinsville youth football for six years. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Casey United Methodist Church with Rev. John Gartelos officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Church. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Casey VFW Post 5762 Building Fund, 300 S.
