Robert Oscar Keller's Obituary
Robert Oscar Keller, age 93, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. He was born January 30, 1926 in Martinsville, IL, the son of Otis Robert Keller and Gladys Callahan Keller. On July 23, 1949 he married Joyce Elaine Blunk in Kentucky; she passed away on April 2, 2003. Survivors include children, Cynthia Keller of Higden, AR; Susan Doherty of Marshall, IL; Gary Keller of Martinsville, IL; Michael Keller (Hannah) of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, Tina McCandless (Steve), Nick Doherty (Jasmine), Chase Keller and Krisinda Doherty (Anthony) and great grandchildren, Jordan Keller, Samual Keller, Lucas McCandless and Jacob McCandless. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joyce Keller; brothers, James Keller and Harold Keller (Hazel) and grandson, Robert Michael Keller. Robert was a 1944 graduate of Martinsville High School. He was a US Army WWII veteran. After returning from the Army, he owned and operated Keller Electric in Martinsville, IL from 1946" " 2012. Robert was a devoted Catholic; he was humorous, hardworking and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He enjoyed gardening and taking his grandchildren to the Cubs games. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Greenwell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL with graveside military rites by Martinsville American Legion and Casey VFW. Visitation will be held from 4" " 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL.
