Robert Antone "Bob" Downey's Obituary
Robert Antone "Bob" Downey, 56, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 11:25 a.m. at his home on Saturday, November 28, 2015. He was born March 6, 1959 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of William Fasig Downey and Ramona Kathryn Conner Downey. Survivors include daughter, Patricia Katherine Downey and companion Travis Hollingsworth of Martinsville, IL; sons, Gary William Downey and fiancé Shealon Gadeberg of Charleston, IL and Harry Robert Downey and wife Kimberly of Marshall, IL; brothers, William "Bill" Downey and wife Carrie of Martinsville, IL and Gary Downey of Marshall, IL; sister, Dawn Ellen Macke of Marshall, IL; mother of his children, Rhonda Downey of Martinsville, IL; grandchildren, James Gadeberg, Mason Evens, Jack Hollingsworth, Harper Downey, Ellie Hollingsworth and Brooklyn Downey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Charlie Macke. Bob was a 1977 graduate of Marshall High School. He attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL and Lincoln Welding School in Cleveland, OH. Bob was a boilermaker with Union Local 374 in Terre Haute, IN. He was a loving father and grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Small officiating. Burial will follow in the Martinsville City Cemetery, Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N. Washington St., Martinsville, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice.
