Robert Leon Connelly's Obituary
Robert Leon Connelly, 78, of Martinsville, IL entered eternal life at 10:15 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. He was born November 26, 1934 in Terre Haute, IN, the son of Ernest E. Connelly and Vera M. Richardson Connelly. On March 22, 1952, he married Mary Lou Estes in Henderson, KY. She passed away on June 17, 2005. Survivors include sons, Dennis Connelly and wife Terri of Martinsville, IL and Rick Connelly and wife Cindy of Martinsville, IL; daughter, Cheryl Lovell and husband Dave of Newton, IL; brother, Charles Connelly and wife Joan of Peoria, AZ; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Connelly and granddaughter, Natasha Connelly. Leon was self-employed owner and operator of Connelly Locker Service in Martinsville, IL since 1974. He had worked there for fifteen years prior to purchasing the business. He attended the Oilfield schools and Westfield High School. Leon was a member of the Willis Chapel Church, rural Martinsville, IL. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Ledley officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday evening at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N.
