Richard Lee Williams' Obituary
Richard Lee Williams, age 76, of Marion, KY formerly of Casey, IL passed away at 2:32 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 in ContinueCARE at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY with his family by his side. He was born July 18, 1947 in Terre Haute, IN the son of Charles Williams and Helen Shoot Williams.
Survivors include his children, Stacey Williams (Camilla) of Casey, IL; Tammy DeWitt of Fairview Heights, IL; Christian Squires (Kurt) of Casey, IL; Danny Fitch of Marion, KY; Joe Fitch (Sarah) of Villa Hills, KY and Katie Williams of Marion, KY; brother, Chuck Williams (Mitzi) of Greenville, TN; sister in law, Karen Williams of Orlando, FL; his children 's mothers, Sharon Richardson of Charleston, IL and Connie Bennett of Marion , KY; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lynn Williams; sister and brother in law, Sandra and Jack Anderson and niece, Lyniece Williams.
Richard was a 1965 graduate of Casey High School. He obtained his Associate degree from DeVry University in Chicago, IL. Richard was drafted by the United States Army and completed his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and completed his AIT training at Fort Polk, LA; serving his country during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to the United States he served as a casualty escort at Fort Lewis, Washington .
Richard was employed as a print pressman for Westinghouse Space and Defense in Laurel, MD. He later worked for Moore Business Forms in Charleston, IL; SpiralKote in Orlando, FL and retired from Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL in 1995. Richard was an IHSA official for football, basketball and baseball and enjoyed playing for the Casey Truckers softball team for many years. He was an avid golfer and collected antique cars and enjoyed attending car shows with his cars.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Solorio officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL with military rites by Casey VFW and Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 12 - 2 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
