Richard Dean "Rick" Siegrist's Obituary
Richard Dean Siegrist, 59, a long time resident of Miami, Oklahoma died Wednesday December 19th, 2007 as the result of an auto accident. "Rick" as everyone knew him was born in Lindsay, California on June 17th, 1948 to Richard and Bernice (Salisbury) Siegrist. Rick was baptized in the Baptist Church. The family moved to Miami in 1959 and Rick graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1966. He attended NEO for two years and then went on to Okmulgee Tech were he received a mechanics certification. He later joined the Miami Fire Department in July 1974 and was also a building contractor for over 35 years. Rick married Debbie Wilson on July 22, 1992. Debbie was formerly of Casey, Illinois and is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Helen (Gardner) Wilson. Rick retired from the Fire Department in March of 1996 after 22 years of service. Rick was employed with Newell Coach of North Miami for the past four years. Rick loved the outdoors. He was an avid duck hunter and enjoyed competitive clay shooting. His favorite thing in life was his family and spending endless hours with his only grand daughter. His memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind. His wife: Debbie Siegrest, daughter: Heather and husband Carey Duniphin of Bartlesville, OK, son: Trevor and wife Jessica (Piercy) of Miami, his mother: Bernice Siegrist of Miami, brother: Clint and wife Peggy Siegrist of Miami, sister: Connie Keifer of Oklahoma City, brothers-in-law Jimmy Wilson and wife, Teresa, and Kenny Wilson and wife, Sue, all of Casey; sister-in-law, Sheila Bland and husband, Vern, of Casey; grand daughter: Allie Duniphin, and several nieces and nephews. His father Richard J. Siegrist preceded Rick in death on July 4th 1991. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, December 29th 2007 at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church of Miami. Brother Joe Morgan and Reverend Leon Weece presided over his services. Donations in Rick's memory may be made to Ducks Unlimited.
