Richard Eggers' Obituary
Richard Max Eggers, age 80, of Toledo, died on Sunday, July 17, 2005 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm. on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the funeral home and burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery with Military Rites. He was born August 6, 1924 in Toledo, the son of Wm. "Osee" and Mary Naomi Sullender Eggers. He married Norma Livingston in 1947; she survives. He was a retired CIPS Lineman Foreman with 32 years of service and a farmer. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Cumberland Co.l Farm Bureau and served his country in the US Army during WWII. Surviving are his wife Norma, sons Steve Eggers and wife Darlene of Elkton, KY and Dave Eggers and wife Carra of Maryville, TN, daughters Diana Griffith and husband Bill of Hidalgo, Linda Martin and husband Bob of Greenup and Patricia Patton of Robinson, brothers Harry Eggers of Neoga, George Eggers of Seattle, WA, Charles Eggers of Toledo and Lloyd "Bat" Eggers of Springfield, seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 12 brothers, two sisters and one grandchild. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Church or the Toledo Christian Church.
