Richard Carlson's Obituary
Richard Bruce "Ric" Carlson, 72 of Casey, IL passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was born on April 14, 1934 in Des Plaines, IL to Arvid G. and Clara Moore Carlson. On September 12, 1959 in Chicago, IL he married Therese Joanne Lawrence. Survivors include his wife, Therese Carlson of Casey, IL; daughter, Cathy Diest and husband Rick of Bethalto, IL and children, Michael, Jenny; daughter, Mary Shields and husband Joe of Fishers, IN and children, Krystin Dodd, Alex and Andrew; son, Larry Carlson of Sun Prairie, WI; daughter, Carole VanSant and husband Mark of Greenwood, IN and children, Evan and Jonah; and daughter, Roberta Love and husband Ed of Bethalto, IL and children, Elisabeth Knierim, Maddie and Emily Love. He was preceded by his parents and brothers, Charles Carlson and Arvid Carlson. Ric worked as an insurance agent for most of his career and retired in 1996 as an investigator for the Illinois Department of Insurance in Springfield, IL. He was a member of the Casey Moose Lodge, the Casey Rotary Club and the Casey VFW. Ric was also a Army veteran of the Korean War. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Father Jeff Grant officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at Markwell Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Noon on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL with Deacon Richard Trjeyfaczka officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Charles Catholic Church.
