Paul E. Hurt, Sr., 78, of Mattoon, Illinois passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Douglas Rehabilitation Center in Mattoon, IL. He was born December 4, 1930 in Greenup, IL, the son of Shelby Joseph Hurt and Zola Letner Hurt. On October 18, 1953 he married Evelyn Marie Fox in Casey, IL. She passed away on May 27, 1997. Survivors include his son, Paul E. Hurt, Jr. and wife Denise of Mattoon, IL; grandson, Andrew Hurt and wife Jen of Mattoon, IL; grandson, Tim Hurt and wife Jill of Mattoon, IL; granddaughter, Lora Conlin and husband Will of Mattoon, IL; four great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and sister, Marie Tabbert and husband Maurice of Mattoon, IL. His parents and wife preceded him in death. Mr. Hurt was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. He worked as a Stock Clerk for Young Radiator in Mattoon, IL for over thirty-one years. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey-Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL.
