Oscar Thomas Stinson's Obituary
Oscar Thomas Stinson, age 90, of Casey, Illinois formerly of Fairbanks, Indiana passed away at 10:55 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, Illinois. He was born December 5, 1928 in Casey, IL, the son of Thomas Aaron Stinson and Nettie Rienbolt Stinson. On August 12, 1950 he married Margaret Eileen Grubb in Martinsville, Illinois. She passed away on July 15, 2008 after 57 years of marriage.Survivors include his son, Carroll Stinson and wife Ilene of Casey, IL; sister, Norma Butcher of Casey, IL; grandchildren, Michelle Draper and husband Troy of Noblesville, IN; Tanya Duniphan and husband Max of Casey, IL; Aaron Stinson and wife Jessica of Casey, IL; great grandchildren, Jade and Kaleb Draper of Noblesville, IN; Harley, Layden, Malia and Silas Duniphan of Casey, IL and Carter and Wyatt Stinson of Casey, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Don Stinson; sisters, Irene Whitling, Thelma Orrell, Helen Updegraff and Mary Murphy and granddaughter, Katie Stinson.Oscar was a 1948 graduate of Casey High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Casey VFW. Oscar retired after working many years for W.L. Dillier Oil Company. He was a master at working jigsaw puzzles and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Mr. David Hickox officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, Illinois. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, Illinois.Memorial donations may be made to Casey VFW, American Heart Association or donor"™s choice.
