Ola Mae Evans' Obituary
Ola Mae Evans, 89, of Martinsville, Illinois passed away 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey, Illinois. She was born March 23, 1919 in Martinsville, Illinois, the daughter of Charles B. Taggart and Elsie Logue Taggart. On January 27, 1940 she married William "Bill" Evans in Martinsville, IL. He passed away in 1969. Survivors include her faithful companion, Fenix; son, Phil Evans and wife Melanie of Houston, TX, and her children Craig Crosby and wife Kathy of Rockville, MD; Todd Crosby and wife Kimberly of San Antonio, TX and Ashley Beldon and husband Bob of Canton, OH; son, Steve Evans of Bridgeport, IL, his children and Mae's grandchildren Lindsey Evans of Springfield, IL, Brittany Evans of St. Louis, MO, and his friend Denise Hunsaker of Newton, IL, including her children, Beth Hunsaker of Cambria, IL and Brandon Hunsaker of Hoffman Estates IL; nephew, Tony Taggart and wife Glenda of Oakland City, IN; niece, Tammy Stultz and husband Larry of Toledo, IL and several great nieces and nephews. Also fondly remembered are her special friends and Martinsville care givers Kathy Garner, Bob and Anna Mae Gates, Bernice Craig, and Bill Mauk. Her parents, husband and brother, Dean Taggart preceded her in death. Mrs. Evans was a bookkeeper for Rowe Foundry in Martinsville, IL for twenty-eight years until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Martinsville Methodist Church, a fifty year member of the American legion Auxiliary in Martinsville and St. Grace Order of the Eastern Star. A graveside service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL with Rev. George Nika officiating. There will be no visitation.
