Nita L. Hills' Obituary
Nita L. Hills, age 81, of Martinsville, IL passed away unexpectedly at 4:23 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL. She was born April 15, 1936 in Martinsville, IL, the daughter of Roy Calvin Newlin and Mattie Ethyl Hall Newlin. On September 20, 1954 she married Paul Fenton Hills in Marshall, IL. He passed away on May 10, 2012.Survivors include her daughters, Tamara Newlin (Jay) of West York, IL; Valorie Ruffner (Butch) of Casey, IL; Delora Briggs (Roger Brandenburg) of Martinsville, IL and Amber L. Maus (Mike) of Oblong, IL; special niece, Angela Marie Jacobs (Troy) of Robinson, IL; brother, George Newlin (Luretta) of Decatur, IL; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband; son, Stewart Mitchell Hills in 2011; brothers, Lee, Edgar, Henry and Ernest Newlin; sisters, Mary Jane Blunk, Alta Newlin, Mamie Newlin, Zita Zimmerman and grandson, Levi Newlin.Nita was a 1954 graduate of Martinsville High School. She retired from Indiana State University where she worked in the financial aid office for over twenty years.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Greenwell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery, rural Martinsville, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior the service on Saturday at Greenwell Funeral Home, 30 N.
