Neoma L Goodwin's Obituary
Neoma L. Goodwin, 83, of Casey, IL passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at her home. She was born April 23, 1928, in Sheridan, AR, the daughter of Roy A. Fox and Edna Pearl McKinley Fox. On December 27, 1944, she married Howard Leon Goodwin in Robinson, IL. He passed away on February 1, 2009. Survivors include her daughters, Connie Louise Kruger, Altamont, IL and Janice Lea Milchman and husband Roger of Effingham, IL; sister, Ann Hartman of Altamont, IL; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Joel, Elmer and Charles Fox; sisters, Mae Ward, Opal Hanners, Dorothy Denny, Doris Fox, Fay Fox, an infant sister and son in law, Donald Kruger. Neoma was a seamstress by trade. In 1983, she retired from the Mattoon Garment Factory in Mattoon, IL. After retirement, she continued to work from her home as a seamstress. She and Howard cleaned and maintained the custodial chores at the Casey White Oak Church of God for many years. Neoma was a member of the Casey White Oak Church of God; the WSCS and the Casey White Oak Young at Heart Club. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Kenny Inman officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
