Neil Romines' Obituary
Neil Romines, 87, of Martinsville, IL passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, December 24, 2010, at Heartland Manor, Casey, IL. He was born on December 24, 1923, in Martinsville, IL, the son of Emil Romines and Edith Craig Romines. On December 6, 1943 he married Dorothy Riley at Marshall, IL. She passed away on September 18, 1993. Survivors include daughter, Toni Baird and husband Joe of Martinsville, IL; two grandsons, Paul Ashley Baird and Troy Aaron Baird of Martinsville, IL; great granddaughter, Brianna Ashley Baird of Martinsville, IL. He was preceded by his parents, wife, son, Robert R. Romines, two brothers, Craig Romines and Doit Romines. Neil was a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Martinsville Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Mason and was Fire Chief of the Martinsville Fire Department for 32 years. Neil was a mechanic at the City Garage that he owned with his father. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, IL. Burial will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Martinsville, IL with graveside military rites by Martinsville American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial tributes and condolences may be sent to the family at www.greenwellfh.com.
