Nathan E. Wofford, 75, of Casey, IL passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. Nathan was born on March 8, 1937 in Dover, TN the son of Harold Asbury Wofford and Ruby Ray Travis Wofford. On October 25, 1956 he married Betty J. Nidey in Marshall, IL. Survivors include his wife of fifty five years, Betty Wofford of Casey, IL; sons, Bob Wofford of Casey, IL, John Wofford of Casey, IL and Justin Wofford and friend Michelle Mancell of Westfield, IL; grandchildren, Joey Wofford and Nikki Hensley, twelve great grandchildren; brother, Leroy Wofford and wife Robin of Casey, IL, sisters, Mernal Black of Greenup, IL and Pauline Davidson of Casey, IL. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert Dillard, James Willard and Norman Wofford. Nathan was a former Casey Police Officer and retired truck driver for Westfield Grain. He was a US Marine veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and his true passion was to be on a tractor and working in his garden. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL with Pastor Allen Ebbler officiating. Burial will follow with graveside military rites by the Casey VFW and Hazel Dell American Legion. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the family, c/o Markwell Funeral Home P.O.
