Naoma F Bradford's Obituary
Naoma F. Bradford, 71, of Kansas, IL passed away at 3:55 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Heartland Nursing Center, Casey, IL. She was born on September 20, 1941 in Casey, IL, the daughter of Jesse James Maxey and Flora Ethel Biggs Maxey. Naoma married Luther Clapp on December 23, 1961. They were married 28 years and had 2 children, Kay Mitchell and Danny Clapp. She later married Donald Bradford on September 16, 1989 in Kansas, IL. Survivors include her husband, Donald Bradford of Kansas, IL; daughter, Kay Mitchell of Casey, IL; son, Danny Clapp and wife Rose of Kansas, IL; granddaughter, Jennifer Ellington and husband Chris; grandsons, Anthony Decker and Kyle Clapp; great granddaughters, Tori Ellington and Alyssa Decker; brother, Victor Maxey and wife Sandy of Casey, IL; and sister, Esther Grant of Kansas, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George and Leroy "Bud" Maxey, sister, Lola Updegraff, and son in law, Roy Mitchell. Mrs. Bradford loved to play Bingo, cards, and Yahtzee. She and Donald made homemade noodles for family and friends. Naoma also enjoyed sewing, quilting and making baby blankets. She was a member of the Westfield VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Willis Chapel Ladies Aid. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with Rev. Jeff Lakins officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
